Trauma Competent Caregiver Course: Empowering Compassionate Care at Westside
At Westside, we are committed to meeting people in their place of pain, and because we know that trauma impacts so many, we offer a one-day Trauma Competent Caregiver course. This training is for anyone who wants to demonstrate compassion, love, and empathy to their community.
This one-day training offers insight into the impact of trauma on individuals and how it manifests in attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors. You will leave this workshop with helpful techniques and approaches to care for individuals who have experienced trauma.

The holiday season can be a challenging time for those experiencing divorce, grief, or the unique challenges of foster, adoptive, and kinship parenting. At Westside Family Church, we offer "Surviving the Holidays," a special event designed to provide comfort and resources for individuals facing these challenges.
On November 16, join us for a one-day class that includes a book, brunch, and children's programming. Sand Tray Training
Have you ever considered using sand tray with your clients? Please join us for an experiential sand tray training, which will cover adaptations of sand tray use for both children and adults. You will learn how to develop and process a sand tray during a counseling session. Included in the training will be creating your own “sand tray” as well.
Cost is free, just register to attend. Invite a friend/colleague to join. Light snacks, water and coffee will be provided. This training can be used as 1 CEU hour.
Mandated Reporter Training
Protecting Children: Child Abuse & Neglect Training with Sunflower House
During Child Abuse and Neglect Training from Sunflower House, you will learn about behavioral and physical indicators of child abuse and how to respond and report. Kansas/Missouri mandated reporter laws, process, local resources and trauma informed response will be covered.

Care Like Jesus is a challenging 5-week experience focused on compassion and care. Designed to equip you with the tools to grow in compassion and serve others in the midst of difficult life circumstances, this Essential is also a great option for A2 groups. Scaling the love of Jesus in our community begins with each one of us.
